Quiet Kid are a Chicago quintet that play radio-ready rock with integrity and attitude. Their music, with nods to Brit-pop as well as '60s and '70s mod rock, has produced notable gems such as "I'm Not The Messenger" and the rocking "Where's The Fashion," the latter of which is so impressive that it got them signed with Chi-Town indie label NeedleDrop Records.
The Red are a powerful and yet somewhat wistful acoustic-driven rock band from Los Angeles whose music is straightforward, simple, and eminently catchy. Kind of like a cross between The New Radicals and Vertical Horizon (when they were still a couple of hippies with acoustic guitars and afros), the band goes further than Phish did in the distribution of their music--forget bootlegs, The Red encourage fans to burn and distribute their studio albums. Heavier than today's other two new artists, Seventh Seal thunder into the broadcast with songs that will call to mind modern metal acts like Disturbed and even Tool, although unlike those bands Seventh Seal doesn't write disturbed and tortured songs. Accented with classic metal signatures like guitar solos doubled and played in 3rds, the Maryland band thrashes out with songs about faith, positivity and hope.
