Hi guys! We're back! Miss us? Betcha did. So what happened, you ask? We're here to tell you. In early 2006, our former benefactor sold the computer company which had been hosting us for free. We managed to be grandfathered in for a while, until one day we noticed the site wasn't working. A quick call to tech support, and our contact assured us that there wasn't any problem with the server--it was sitting comfortably beside his desk. Which was odd, because his desk was about thirty miles from the data center where the site was hosted. Yep, we finally got the boot. We didn't have the funding at the time for the type of server we needed, so GroundWaves slipped into permanent temporary oblivion.
Well, our funding issues are taken care of now, and we're back! Since we've been gone, podcasts have become commonplace, facebook has changed the online business model, iTunes has changed the music industry, people have gone to jail for downloading MP3s, and online radio stations have gotten raped by the RIAA. Seems like the time is right for GroundWaves. We'd like to welcome Chris Campbell to the staff as our new Chief Operations Officer. Chris is an old friend to the station and one of the prime movers in getting us back online. So ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, put us in your audio players and send us your music. We're back, and we're biggin' up the global underground.
