Enter Electronica
2008.06.23

Electronica, dance and triphop are typically under-represented on GroundWaves, so we're excited to debut four new artists today who all represent these overlapping genres of music.

Los Angeles based Vette produces pop and triphop spiced with everything from Latin notes to metal overdrive to traditional electronica-style beeps and boops, but always driven home by singer Jonelle Vette's breathy and seductive vocals.

London duo Cling produces likable ambient chillout music with shimmering synth programming and female vocals, while DC's Boboroshi & Kynz bring pop and rock sensibilities to intelligent electronica.

From the unlikely and arid Albuquerque NM comes the cooly-named Iciclechain whose highly dancable tracks conjure early-90s house music mixed with Depeche Mode, and sample everything from Gregorian chants to African folk songs.
