Love, Hate & the Bear
2009.02.23
Roots rocker Ed Alkalay makes his GroundWaves debut with tracks from his 3rd CD entitled I Hate You. The talented New Hampshire-based songwriter has a deep, bellowing voice and a pension for sparkling rock/alternative country guitar riffs that truly round out his music.
Love Is Everything, the newest release from LA-based trumpeter John Fumo and his wife singer/song writer Kelly Fumo (together known as FumoSonic), features an eastern percussive element coupled with jazz, rock and pop melodies. The result is an intriguing musical trip that takes the listener from LA to Lamka and back again. From Nirvana to Neil Young, Britain's Bear Holland cites a wide range of influences that have helped to shape his music. Fitting, in that his songs are a reflection of that very same diversity--rock, pop, blues, dance... it's all in there and Bear finds a way to make it all work.
